The Centre fosters research into varied aspects of modern economic life at both macro and micro levels. In keeping with its view that economics is both a theoretical and practical discipline, the Centre's research work maintains a clear link between concepts and application, academic and practical aspects, and the manner in which micro cases address the central economic questions of our time.

In collaboration with colleagues from around the world, the research is coordinated by Dr. Christopher Houghton Budd, whose wide-ranging involvement in economic life, includes business, academic and political experience, a degree in economic history, and a doctorate in banking and international finance.
